All surveys will be carried out with total independancy, honesty, dedication and integrity. We will always operate to industry practice and standard. As an independent marine survey consultancy we will issue our reports based on what is discussed, provided, seen and tested at the time of the survey. We do not accept liability for what we are unable to see, could not be tested or what was not made available.


With an industry need for quality survey, Captain Steve Hawthorne started HKIMS. With over 10 years in the Far East Region, working for Braemar Technical Services Pte Ltd (BTS) in both Singapore and Hong Kong he understands the region well.

During his time with BTS, Steve was involved in numerous marine casualty investigations and in warranty work, general claims and condition surveys throughout the Far East Region.
